Terms
The deal between you and Movie Rabbit Hole, in plain words. By making an account you agree to it, and to the Privacy page, which says how we treat your data.
Version 2026-10-20. If these change in a way that matters, you'll see a notice when you next visit, before they apply to you.
It's a beta
The site is new and still being built in the open. Things will break, change, move or disappear while we find out what works, and we'll sometimes redo a day's game when it's broken. Now and then the site will close for maintenance, sometimes without much warning and more often than any of us would like; nothing you've saved is lost when it does. Your feedback is what makes it better, and we're grateful for it. We'll always try to protect what you've earned (streaks, points, cards) when we change things, and to say so in What's new when we do.
Your account
- You must be 13 or older.
- One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what's done with your account.
- There's no email on file, so if you forget your password, ask the member who invited you or the site's admin for a new sign-in link. Your account and history are kept.
- You can delete your account at any time from Your data.
What you contribute stays yours
When you add something here (a disc release, a correction, a review note, feedback, a Rushmore, and in future artwork), you keep the copyright. You give Movie Rabbit Hole permission to show it on the site, to resize or reformat it to fit, and to show it in posts about the site, for as long as it's here. That permission is non-exclusive (you can use your work anywhere else too) and free. If you remove something, or delete your account, we stop showing it, except where other members have built on it, like a disc listing that's become part of a label's catalogue, which we keep without your name.
We'll credit contributors when they ask to be credited, and some contributions earn points and rewards (how rewards work). Art for the card game will have its own short agreement, written with the artists, before any is used.
Please only contribute what's yours to share: no one else's photos, scans or writing without their permission.
Playing fair
- Be decent to other members. No harassment, hate, or personal information about other people.
- Don't run several accounts, scripts or bots to win games, farm points or cards.
- Don't try to break into the site, overload it, or copy its data wholesale. The film data is licensed to us for this site, and much of it can't be reused commercially.
We can remove contributions or suspend accounts that break these rules. If that happens to you, we'll tell you why, and you can ask us to look again.
About the information here
We work hard to get the numbers right and every figure says where it came from, but the site is a fan reference built from public sources (Data and sources), and some of those are community-edited. It's provided as it is, without guarantees that it's complete or correct. Don't rely on it for anything important without checking the source. Film titles, posters and photos belong to their owners and are shown for reference. Information courtesy of IMDb (imdb.com), used with permission; this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Copyright concerns
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, tell us what it is, where it is, and how to reach you through Feedback, and we'll look at it promptly and take it down if it shouldn't be here.
Free now; ads and Premium later
Everything is free during the beta. Afterwards, the plan is to stay free for everyone with ads that never use your personal data, plus an optional paid tier with premium features and no ads (more on that). Nothing will ever charge you without you choosing it, and anything that does will have its own clear terms first.
The legal part
The site is offered free and as it is. To the extent the law allows, Movie Rabbit Hole isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it, or for losses from the site being unavailable or wrong; and its total liability to you for anything is limited to what you've paid us in the last year (during the beta, nothing). Nothing here takes away rights you have under laws that can't be signed away. These terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, USA.
Changes and questions
If we change these terms in a way that matters, you'll see a notice on your next visit before they apply. Questions? Use Feedback; a person answers.
